From the price to the service to the quality of food, this place is the best among all korean restaurants I've been.
I personally love eating korean food whenever I go out. I tried almost all restaurants in downtown, east vancouver and burnaby. This one stands out among each and everyone of it.
Let's start with the service, went here 2 days ago around 7:30pm and man was I very impressed about their service. We didn't have to ask for a change in grill, they just change it when they notice your grill is getting darker. They serve alot of side dishes that you can ask for refills and they won't hesitate on giving it to you.
The quality of their meat and pork is just amazing. Very tender and soft (as long as you cook them right).
The price of their food is very affordable compared to other korean places which is why I love this restaurant in the first place.
Overall, love this place so much and I'm so happy that this is just a walking distance from my house. 10/10 would recommend. Always been here and always a good experience. -

After squash, we were ready to eat somewhere nearby. Driven by Hanwoori Korean Restaruant several times so we finally decided to give them a try. It's next door to a random automotive repair shop.
We dropped in on a Friday evening (around 7:15pm). The inside consists of 6 booths and four larger areas where you sit on the floor to eat. Place was packed so we put our names down; waited about 25 minutes for a booth. Service is fine; if you want something, just press the button on your table.
The menu is massive with BBQ combinations, casseroles (aka. shared hotpots), special dishes & delicacies, regular menu, noodle and drinks. Prices are significantly higher than other Korean spots in town. Interesting that depending on what you order, you may or may not be served their banchan dishes. Have never seen that before.
- Banchan - we were served kimchi (no spiciness or flavour to it), bean sprouts (bland and watery) glazed potatoes (super salty), pickled vegetables, broccoli, white pepper soup and daikon. Only side dish I really enjoyed was the daikon.
- Dakdori tang (for 2) (#22) ($37.95) - spicy chicken and potato stew. It came with chunks of potato, carrot, onions, enoki mushroom and green onion. There was also two small bowls of rice included. Not much heat to the broth but it was flavourful (although we detected some MSG). Good amount of chicken (on the bone) and for the most part, it was tender. We shared this between three people and had leftovers.
- Japchaebap (#68) ($14.95) - stir-fried vermicelli noodles with pork and vegetables on rice. No idea why their regular japchae is so expensive ($23.95). We opted for this instead which was half japchae and half rice. Nothing fancy but it hit the spot for us.
Average, expensive Korean eats at Hanwoori. Doubtful I'll be back anytime soon. 2.5 stars. -

Winner of Vancouver Magazine's best Korean for 2019, we had to try it out while we were in the Burnaby area.
The dining area is a decent size with several private rooms lining the left side. Our family of 2 adults and 3 kids were seated in one of those rooms with plenty of space to spare.
Since we weren't very hungry, the waitress suggested we try a BBQ combination for 2 and a seafood tofu stew. For the BBQ meats, the taste was good but we felt it was slightly on the saucier side. Taste was a bit heavier than we were used to and masked much of the natural meat flavour. The stew itself was decent but we found the seafood flavour lighter than what we've had at other places.
A decent Korean restaurant for the area but I would only recommend if in the area. Our favourites will still be in the downtown area. -

It's been years since I've visited. Came in for lunch as I was in the area. Easy parking. Got seated right away. Server was super nice. Food however was lackluster. Soup was tasteless and the shredded beef was super tough. For the area and this dish generally comes with an egg too, nope skimp that out too. Thank goodness there was soy sauce and salt and pepper on the table. Banchan was also flavorless, super plainly dressed red cabbage kimchi, perfectly blanched soybean sprouts but no sesame oil, raw broccoli with gochujung was a first at korean restaurant, potatoes lacked sugar, soy sauce and oil and sesame oil... I should stop now. The teapot was a great idea for tea but I came in at lunch and it was bland enough to be called hot water.
This place is for you if you are health conscious if you are watching your sodium, sugar and fat intake. -

Good restaurant space, decent service, menu is pricey, quality of food is great though, generous portions, good parking space, if you're not careful you could get lost though, good turn around on wait time, quality food just a bit pricey but I guess it reflects on what you're getting which is good! Not great but good. $102 for 4 dishes.
